Community Safety and Well-Being Planning helps organizations improve the things that keep us healthy, happy, and safe. Together, we use research to create solutions focused on education, health care, food, housing, income, crime, and belonging. It is important that we create a welcoming community where problems are solved before they happen and where different professionals and community members come together to help people now and in the future
Q1 focused on forward momentum by strengthening partnerships, advancing priority planning initiatives and initiating key activities to support community needs. Efforts included activation of collaborative planning tables to advance shared priorities, delivery of foundational training and awareness sessions, continued development of practical tools and resources, and securing funding for enhanced human trafficking prevention education and youth well-being initiatives. These actions were supported by ongoing onboarding of partners to further strengthen coordinated, cross‑sector collaboration.
Advancing priority initiatives alongside the ongoing renewal of the CSWB Plan. This includes an analysis of the completed 5‑year Community Safety and Well‑Being Survey, continued action by the Caregivers and Substance Use Working Group, expansion of suicide awareness education with the hiring of a lead coordinator, and preparation for the public launch of the hate crime reporting tool. Additional actions included the long‑weekend safe‑driving education in local high schools, and continued education and engagement grounded in lived-experience perspectives.
