1.3.2 Finalize and implement the Archaeological Management Plan.
Planning staff has been using Archaeological Management Plan mapping for planning applications, and working with Saugeen Ojibway Nation Archaeology staff to understand areas of highest potential and identify processes for updating mapping to reflect new sites and completed assessments.
In Q1 2026 County Council provided direction regarding the Official Plan that will be incorporated into the protocols for the Archaeological Management Plan.
The County provided comments to the province regarding proposed provincial changes to archaeology standards and guidelines which may impact the implementation protocols.
