4.2.1 Increase the number of businesses participating in the Business to Bruce program.
Q2 featured key developments in the Business to Bruce program. A formal report was presented to Council, outlining program performance and engagement metrics. Additionally, the Summer Company program was successfully launched, supporting youth entrepreneurship and expanding the program’s reach. These activities have helped maintain momentum and visibility for Business to Bruce across Bruce County.
Business to Bruce participation continued to grow in Q2. A total of 941 businesses participated in Business to Bruce programming and services and increase of 244 businesses over Q1 2026 demonstrating increasing awareness and utilization of economic development supports. Participation figures include businesses engaged through inquiries, consultations, outreach activities, events, training sessions, and other Business to Bruce initiatives.
Key contributing activities included: 111 inquiries, 73 consultations, 384 training participants, 90 business connections through Business Walks, and 283 attendees at the Cruise & Connect event.
Marketing and outreach efforts will continue to expand participation in Business to Bruce programs. Particular focus will be placed on promoting new succession planning supports, increasing awareness of available business services, and strengthening relationships with entrepreneurs and existing businesses.
